Inauguration of Geriatric Project

The inauguration of ICMR-DHR funded project on “Capacity building for the nurse educators to conduct multidisciplinary research in geriatric care” was done on 10 June 2015 at 9.00 am in 娱乐老虎机,森林舞会游戏 College of Nursing 娱乐老虎机,森林舞会游戏.

The project is of five years duration with objectives to train the nurse educators to conduct multidisciplinary research in geriatric care, to conduct mentored multidisciplinary research project and to disseminate the results so as to improve the Geriatric Health care. This project is aimed at educating selected Nurse Educators across the country.
Dr H Vinod Bhat, Vice Chancellor of 娱乐老虎机,森林舞会游戏 Academy of Higher Education was the chief guest for the function. Dr Bhat addressed the gathering with his motivating words and in his speech he emphasized on the importance of geriatric care in this century. He congratulated the project team for their work which helped bring the project to 娱乐老虎机,森林舞会游戏 Academy of Higher Education. He highlighted on major geriatric health concerns and geriatric health care research areas.

Dr Anice George, Dean MCON 娱乐老虎机,森林舞会游戏 & principal investigator of the project, introduced the chief guest and welcomed the gathering. Mr Anil Raj, Administrative officer for the project, gave the project overview. Dr Judith A Noronha, Associate Dean MCON 娱乐老虎机,森林舞会游戏 proposed the vote of thanks for the function.
This was followed with the Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop of three days duration. The resource persons were Dr. Joshua Muliira, Assistant Professor, Department of Adult Health & Critical Care, College of Nursing, Sultan Qaboos University, Sultanate of Oman, Dr Shrinivas Darak, Senior 娱乐老虎机,森林舞会游戏er, Prayas Health Group Pune, Maharashtra and Dr Prabha Adhikari Professor & Unit Head, Dept. of Medicine KMC Mangalore & Dr T M A Pai endowment chair for Geriatrics, 娱乐老虎机,森林舞会游戏 Academy of Higher Education. They took sessions on Mentoring Process, Mixed Methodology 娱乐老虎机,森林舞会游戏 & Identification of Geriatric Health concerns & Geriatric research area.
