Dr. Dilip Nayak, Dean of MCODS, Mangalore, highlighted the importance of research and publications. He also addressed the need of funding agencies which help in the issue of grants.

Dr. Nidambur Vasudev Ballal, spoke on the topic “PLAN PURPOSEFULLY * PREPARE PRAYERFULLY * PROCEED POSITIVELY & PURSUE PERSISTENTLY” which enlightened the importance of the publications, the use of latest technology and instruments that help in the research activities, writing a high quality scientific paper, submission of a research paper to a good journal, concerns regarding ethical issues in publication and Editor/ Reviewer's perspective on research paper.?

Dr. ?Ramya Shenoy Kudpi, delivered a lecture on the topic “GRANT- "How and When?” which implies the sensitization on funding agencies, Drafting of Grant Proposal, Checklist to be followed while uploading of Grant Proposal and Documentation of Grant Proposal for a hassle free closure.

Dr. Suchitra Shenoy M, gave a brief insight on the topic “Perspectives of microbiology in dentistry”. She focused on the scope to study the host/ microbial interaction, further research on oral biofilms, periodontal infections, endodontic microbiology, Infection control Protocol and various microbiological methods in dental research.

In the afternoon session, a workshop was conducted by Dr. Ramya Shenoy on uploading of Grant Proposal and about various agencies that help in the funding of Grant Proposal.
